Jeannette Claessen Sculptor and Mosaic Artist

Jeannette Claessen studied Anthropology and Social Assistance and specialized in youth aid. She has been about fifteen years working in Co-operation for Development Areas.

In 1995 she decides to change her professional career, focusing all her efforts to communication, personal development processes and social work for the outlying neighbourhoods. At the same time she begins studying Art and Sculpturing. In Netherlands, under the direction of The Heart Academy, she completes her vocational and professional training in Spirituality and Psychology.

In 2000, based on all her wide background, her final idea takes place with MOSAICA (which means work of the muses) and a self-training concept for groups and individuals in which spirituality combines with psychology and art skills.

Key word for Mosaïca's philosophy is "to link". To create links between what you think and feel; between today and tomorrow; between your living place and the rest of the world; between your own life and all the others.

Our world is greatly divided, specialized and individualized. These barriers we created ourselves prevent us to realize how interdependent is all in existence. This lack of vision drives us to lose contact with ourselves with regard to the surrounding world.

The different Workshops in Mosaïca impulses participants to share again this interdependency, a part of which they already are, refunding the basis to unity.

Mosaïca methods are various, though related to the use of colours and shapes; with intuitive expression.

In the different courses, workshops, projects, as to individual work, we always turn to paint, draw, clay sculpt, write poetry, etc.
Using artistic methods, we work more profoundly searching and reaching our very souls and the deepest subconscious.

At the same time, in tune with the therapeutical work, Jeannette keeps her artistical side by hand-scuplting stone, combining with iron or other materials, mosaic sculptures and patterns.
